Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to insulate my conservatory?

Usually 1 day. The vast majority (over 97%) are completed in one day. However, The larger, more complex and bespoke installations can take up-to 2 days.

Why choose Conservatory Insulations Solutions for my conservatory insulation?

We have between us, 25+ years in the conservatory insulation industry and have worked in companies where customer service hasn’t always been the number 1 priority so we left to start our own business where excellent service and value for money both operate hand in hand.

Our aim is to ensure you are 100% happy with your installation – so much so that we put our name to it, guarantee your installation for 10 years and are happy for you to give feedback to any rating sites like Google Reviews.

Are all conservatory insulation quilts the same?

No! “Low-E Insulation” is the ONLY Government approved and guaranteed BREATHABLE material on the market and the only Government approved breathable insulation which qualifies for the Zero VAT category.

Low-E is also the only insulation quilt with a Class A Fire Rating.

Over 1 BILLION Square Feet of installed ‘LOW E’ material in 30 countries worldwide prove this is the World’s Number 1 Insulation.More information can be found on THE FACTS page

What guarantees do you provide?

We offer a full 10 year guarantee on workmanship and materials.

How environmentally friendly is your insulation quilt?

Extremely/Exceptionally Environmentally Friendly: Low-E is unique in the Insulation industry as it is 100% carbon neutral, made from upto 80% recycled materials and is the GREENEST solution available in the UK! A WIn-Win-Win for everyone!

More information can be found on THE FACTS page

How fire safe is your conservatory roof insulation?

EXCEPTIONALLY SAFE  – Low E is the ONLY Conservatory Roof Insulation that achieves CLASS 1 & CLASS A Fire Safety Certification!!! Giving you the piece of mind that you are protected with the best insulation in the UK and in addition does not conflict with building regulations or House Insurance Policies.

BE AWARE –  that most multilayered polymer quilts or blankets used in Conservatory Roof Insulation are Class E rated which is now NOT a FIRE RATEABLE material and does not meet current Fire Safety Regulations. This therefore may impact your house insurance policy or ‘mortgage compatibility’ when selling your home!

How many people will come to my installation?

The majority of installations are completed with a 2 man installation team unless the conservatory is over 40 Square Meters in size.

In addition if we are installing lights, plastering walls or installing other additional services then additional installers may attend as well. Please do not worry we will let you know who is coming and they will all have Identification Badges so you can be comfortable in your own home.

How do I know if my framework / roof structure is suitable?

The good news is that 99% of all UK conservatories are suitable for our installation. Our experienced surveyors will check the suitability as will our installers to ensure compatibility.

If for any reason your roof structure is not suitable we can offer you the service to amend that to make it suitable for our installation and thereby benefit from the No 1 Roof insulation and quality installation from Conservatory Insulation Solutions.

Is it SAFE to add weight to my conservatory?

Great question! – Yes it is very safe and at just 150 gms per square meter our installation is not only super light but surpasses and is approved for both Building Control and Building Regulations. To see a comparison to other quilts visit the facts page.

Can I leave opening vents or viewing panels?

Absolutely! This is completely your choice and our surveyor will discuss these options with you.

How much roof-space does it take up?

Our Low-E installation only takes up to between 6.5 and 7 cm in depth from your ceiling. This will retain the shape and feeling of space in your conservatory compared to the 150mm or 6 inches of SuperQuilt, IF, it is fitted to the manufacturers recommended installation standards.

To see a comparison to other quilts visit the facts page.

WARNING: unfortunately the majority of SuperQuilt installers and surveyors may misinform you that you can install superquilt into a smaller depth of ceiling. Whilst it is physically possible to cram SuperQuilt into a smaller space it will fail to achieve its manufacturers performance claims and benefits as it isn’t installed as per the manufacturer’s instructions and this will affect their warranty and any claim against the manufacturer will be null and void.

What colour finishes are available?

We offer a white UPVC finish.

I have an old Ceiling light / fan. Can you replace this?

Yes, of course – re-installing an existing light fitment or ceiling fan is all part of the installation.

We don’t currently have lighting in the conservatory, can you install lights?

Absolutely yes – our qualified technicians can supply and fit new lighting fitments or ceiling fans for you, providing you already have an electrical connection in the conservatory.

How much does it typically cost?

With every conservatory being a different size and shape and requiring a survey it’s not easy to give an answer directly.

We do have a minimum order value of £1,795.00 and typically our Insulation Solution is a ¼ to a 1/3rd that of the cost of a tiled roof. However we are more than happy to visit, measure and survey your conservatory and advise on the options and give you a specific quote with no obligation to buy and no hard sell.

If you want a ballpark figure or estimate please fill in our Free Quote form and we will call you to discuss the options and based on your sizes provide you with a realistic estimate prior to booking a survey.
